Distance: 6.2 miles (round-trip)
Travel Time: 1.5 - 2 hours
Ride Level: Beginner
This lovely little hidden gem is an excellent ride for families and beginners alike. The route is virtually flat and traffic free, yet it does provide one very small incline for those "afraid of hills". There is also a brief section along a quiet lane with limited traffic to introduce "riding on the road" for all ages and skill levels.
The ride begins and ends at the Caerphilly Visitor Centre. Approximately 5 miles of the ride is on walking & cycling paths and primarily follows a short section of NCN Route 4 through Bedwas to Riverside Park in Trethomas. The approximate travel time is 1 to 1 1/2 hours (excluding time parked along the river having lunch, gazing across the countryside, or daydreaming as to why you haven't done this before...).
